Bar noise
I used to love it here, but last time I went with 3 friends and was seated in the middle of the room. We literally could not carry on a conversation. The sound system was blaring and we begged the manager to turn down the music and they apologized but said they couldn’t. That it was how the restaurant liked it. Someone ought to tell Marcus Samuelson, because I can’t be the only one who will never return.
This place was so loud last time we ate there. We had to literally scream to say anything and we gave up after a few minutes and just stared at each other for the rest of the meal. There is absolutely no reason why you should have a band with a full brass section playing at full volume during dinner hours unless you’re a concert hall.
I ate here on a night a band was playing in the main level bar. It was deafening. We asked the manager to ask them to lower the volume but nothing was done. The servers couldn’t even hear our orders without stopping way down.
